The news broke on Tuesday that former UFC women’s strawweight Paige VanZant was out of her Bare Knuckle FC 27 bout against Charisa Sigala. My MMA News first reported the development, and an angry VanZant released a statement.
The fight promotion pulled the fight from Saturday’s fight card in order to make it a headlining bout of an October event. Nonetheless, VanZant wasn’t happy about it.
“THIS IS OUT OF MY CONTROL!!! I WENT AN ENTITE CAMP AND WEIGHT CUT TO BE PULLED A WEEK OUT!!!!,” VanZant posted in all caps on social media.
“I DID NOT PULL FROM MY FIGHT!!!! I WAS PULLED! I AM PISSED OFF AND HEARTBROKEN! I WOR(K)ED MY F**KING A** OFF TO BE PULLED A WEEK BEFORE I AM SUPPOSED TO COMPETE!!!!!,” she added.
’12 Gauge’ last fought in July 2021, losing to Rachael Ostovich in the main event of BKFC 19. She’s 0-2 since signing with the fight promotion.
