ONE Championship recently received a significant investment from Temesek Holdings and the promotion has wasted no time in putting the funds to use as part of its ongoing Chinese expansion.
ONE Championship recently announced it was opening offices in Beijing and Shanghai, while two more Chinese shows have also been added to the official website. The promotion will be heading to Chengdu on Sept. 24 and returning to Hefei on Oct. 22.
The Hefei Olympic Sports Centre played host to a ONE Championship card earlier this month, while Chengdu is set to become the fifth Chinese city that Asia’s biggest MMA promotion has been to.
In total, there are eight ONE Championship events scheduled for the final four months of 2016. First stop is Macau on Aug. 13 followed by shows in Jakarta on Aug. 27 and Kuala Lumpur on Sept. 2.
In between the two China cards, there will be an event in Yangon on Oct. 7. After that, ONE Championship is heading to Singapore on Nov. 11 and Manila on Dec. 2 with the former set to be the 50th event in the promotion’s history, while the final show of the year is set for Bangkok on Dec. 17.
