Old interview with Dana White’s mom has resurfaced after slap

A video was released by TMZ which showed UFC president Dana White slapping his wife several times during a heated argument on New Year’s Eve. Now, just days after the news broke, an old interview with White’s mom is shedding some light on his potential past aggression.

In 2011, June White published an unauthorized biography of her son titled “Dana White, King of MMA,” in which she detailed his violent past.

What did Dana White’s mom say about his anger issues?

In an interview promoting the book she says White has “gone overboard” during conflicts with his wife and labeled him a “vindictive tyrant.”

“I don’t want to take anything away from him, for what he’s done for MMA and the UFC. I mean, Dana has a high school education, and that’s it. I think it’s pretty amazing, the things he’s been able to do in MMA and the UFC, but he’s not a good person,” June said in a 2011 interview. “He seems to have lost his character somewhere along the way. He mistreats people. It’s terrible the way he speaks to women and treats women. That really bothers me, because I don’t believe I’ve ever brought him up to behave like that.”

Dana White’s mom also added that his wife “gave him the worst black eye I’ve ever seen” on their honeymoon and “he nearly lost his eye.”

To his credit, Dana White addressed the video of him hitting his wife and took full responsibility for the incident. He has not commented on the resurfaced video of his mother.
