MMAWeekly Radio’s Ryan Bennett talked briefly with Marc Ratner from the Nevada State Athletic Commission this evening and it looks as though there could be changes happening soon regarding future outcomes of bouts.

Bennett asked Ratner about the situations that once a fighter has tested positive for steroids, why the fight isn’t changed to a no contest result. Ratner said quote “We are looking at legislative measures to change that, however it does take time, but you most likely will see change regarding that issue.”

Marquardt has 30 days to address the findings of the Nevada State Athletic Commissions positive steroid result. As both MMAWeekly’s Ivan Trembow and Ken Pishna have previously stated that Marquardt has already taken additional tests in Colorado and Nevada.

“He took the (additional) test yesterday here in Nevada and we imagine we will hear something back as far as the result of the test on Thursday or Friday…” Ratner told MMAWeekly. For now Marquardt, the UFC and the State of Nevada will all wait to see how the most recent tests go later this week and it will be interesting to see what appeal, if any, Marquardt will file at the end of the week.
