UFC Fight Night 81: Dillashaw vs. Cruz Gate and Attendance from Boston
The Ultimate Fighting Championship has begun to make Boston an annual stop for premier Fight Night cards.
Last year, the UFC landed at TD Garden with an event that featured red-hot Conor McGregor in the main event. This year, they perhaps took things a step further by headlining UFC Fight Night 81 with a bantamweight title fight between TJ Dillashaw and Dominick Cruz. It marked the first time a championship bout headlined a Fight Night card on FOX Sports 1.

The title fight drew a crowd of 12,022 for a live gate of $1.3 million, according to UFC president Dana White.
The main event was a Fight of the Night effort from Dillashaw and Cruz, but after five full rounds of back-and-forth action, Cruz reclaimed the belt that he never lost. He was stripped of the bantamweight championship after suffering numerous injuries over the past four years. Cruz won it back with a narrow, split-decision victory over Dillashaw in Boston.
