Takeya Mizugaki vs. Erik Perez Agreed to for UFC on Fox Sports 1 #2 in Indianapolis
The UFC on Fox Sports 1: Condit vs. Kampmann fight card is coming together fast. The latest addition is a bantamweight bout between Takeya Mizugaki and Erik Perez.
MMAWeekly.com sources confirmed the bout Tuesday afternoon.
Mizugaki (17-7-2) is a longtime Zuffa fighter whose tenure stretches back to the WEC in 2009. He has consistently alternated between wins and losses over the past four years, but recently broke free of that pattern with back-to-back victories over Jeff Hougland and Bryan Caraway, raising his UFC record to 4-2.
A victory over Perez would be a strong move towards entering his name in the bantamweight mix, especially with champion Dominick Cruz and interim titleholder Renan Barão both currently on the shelf with injuries.

Perez (13-4) made his way into the Octagon as a last-minute replacement for Byron Bloodworth at The Ultimate Fighter 15 Finale.
He defeated John Albert at the finale and didn’t look back, following his debut performance with two more victories, knocking out Ken Stone and scoring a TKO stoppage of Bloodworth.
With a spotless record during his three-fight tenure, Perez is also making a move towards the top of the 135-pound class.
Perennial welterweight contenders Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann headline the UFC on Fox Sports 1 #2 fight card, slated for Aug. 28 at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
