Octagon Newcomer Brandon Thatch Squares Off with Justin Edwards at UFC on Fox Sports 1 #2
UFC officials on Wednesday announced the addition of a welterweight bout between Justin Edwards and promotional newcomer Brandon Thatch to UFC on Fox Sports 1 #2, which takes place on Aug. 28 in Indianapolis.
Edwards (8-2) made his way to the Octagon as a replacement fighter on the thirteenth season of The Ultimate Fighter. He didn’t progress far on the reality show, but he has remained with the UFC for the past two years, alternating between wins and losses in his four bouts for the promotion.
He enters the fight with Thatch having submitted Josh Neer at UFC on FX 5 last October. Edwards was supposed to have faced Gunnar Nelson in February, but pulled out of the fight due to injury.
