Myles Jury: The Forgotten TUF 13 Contender Charging Back to the UFC

Through 14 full seasons of the 'Ultimate Fighter' there have been a fair share of huge moments and more than a few broken hearts when the filming was over.
Some fighters lost fights they felt they should have won, others faced injuries during victories that prevented them from continuing on in the competition.
For 'Ultimate Fighter' season 12 participant Myles Jury he never even got the chance to show what he could do.
Jury was undefeated heading into the show, and felt like he had a great chance to excel under coach Brock Lesnar, but never got to show anything after tearing his ACL in an early practice. The injury forced Jury off the show and into surgery, after which he's been recovering for the last several months.
"It was disappointing because I felt like it was a great opportunity, but I'm a firm believer in everything happens for a reason, and so for whatever that reason was it doesn’t really matter cause it happened and I'm a better person now from the whole situation. I took a lot of good things away from the show, and I'm better than ever now," Jury told MMAWeekly Radio recently.
Jury had the surgery after exiting the show and now with rehab he's back to full strength. There are still a few tests left to be done on the knee, but Jury is ready to get back into training and head back to the cage very soon.

"It's 100% on paper, for the last 6 or 7 months I've really been babying it, not putting it in too much danger, and now's that time I need to mentally put it in danger, so it's 100% on paper but over the next month or two it's a trial basis of getting my body used to doing things it hasn't done for the last 7 or 8 months," Jury stated.
When the 'Ultimate Fighter' season 13 was over, Tony Ferguson was crowned champion with Ramsey Nijem coming in as the runner-up. Jury admits that he would have loved to have had the chance to test himself against either one of them, but his long term goal is just to get back to the UFC, not settling reality show grudges.
"I felt like I'm the best fighter there. All those guys were all great, but I felt like I matched up well with any of those guys and I feel like I match-up well with anyone in the lightweight division in the UFC," said Jury.
"To be honest I think about (fighting Tony or Ramsey) sometimes, but I feel like in the UFC there's so many exciting fights for me, there's just so many that I feel would just be barn burners, I'm not really looking at Ramsey (Nijem) or Tony (Ferguson) to be honest with you. I'm looking at whoever the UFC wants me to fight."
The next step in Jury's recovery process is to hit the gym hard and then schedule a fight, hopefully in the first part of 2012. If all goes well, Jury will be making the call to the UFC to finally get his chance to compete in the Octagon.
"I’m actually having a fight in January is what it's looking like right now in a smaller organization. I think I'm right there and I think the right thing would be a smaller level fight, knock off the ring rust, try out the leg and then make the campaign in 2012 to get in the UFC," said Jury.
"When I talked to Mr. Dana White he was like you're exactly what we're looking for, just get your leg better, and my manager talked to the UFC and they pretty much said contact us when you're ready to go and that's pretty much it. Ever since I was a kid, I always knew I wanted to be in the UFC so that's where I want to be."
