A welterweight match-up between sixth-ranked Demian Maia (21-6) and eleventh-ranked Gunnar Nelson (14-1-1) has been added to the UFC 194: Aldo vs. McGregor fight card on Dec. 12.

Maia is riding a three-fight winning streak. The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt is coming off a submission win over Neil Magny at UFC 190 on Aug. 1. The fight against Nelson will be Maia’s third Octagon appearance in 2015 and hopes to extend his winning streak to four consecutive fights.

Nelson rebounded from his first career loss by submitting Brandon Thatch at UFC 189 in his last outing. The 27-year-old also holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under the legendary Renzo Gracie. He’ll put his grappling game on the line against one of the most accomplished submission fighters in the sport when he meets Maia in December.
