Riding in on back-to-back wins, Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Pete Spratt was hoping to leave Friday night’s Maximum Fighting Championship event in Enoch, Alberta, Canada, one step closer to the place he calls home, the UFC. Unfortunately for Spratt, he slipped farther away from his intended destination.

Newcomer Ryan Ford – who entered the fight with a 4-0 record compared to Spratt’s resume of more than 30 professional bouts – gave the UFC veteran everything that he could handle and more. Proving that he is no flash in the pan, Ford emerged victorious near the end of the second round, securing a rear naked choke.

Easily the biggest win of his short career, the victory over Spratt should serve to propel Ford into more high profile bouts in the near future.

In a middleweight contest, previously undefeated Chris Camozzi took Ultimate Fighter alum Jesse Forbes late into their fight before succumbing to an armbar just under two minutes into the final frame.
