Popular Los Angeles area fighter Nam Phan was victorious Saturday night at Gladiator Challenge’s event that was part of the Los Angeles FitExpo. He finished off Saad Awad within the first minute of round two, keeping Phan on the winning track.

Having fought several times for Gladiator Challenge’s sister promotion, King of the Cage, Phan had been on a seven-fight winning streak before dropping back-to-back fights to Josh Thomson and MMAWeekly’s No. 4 ranked lightweight Gesias “JZ” Calvancante.

The win over Awad at the Los Angeles Convention Center was Phan’s second – the first being over Shad Smith – since the loss to Calvancante at the K-1 Hero’s Dynamite!! USA event last June.
