The changes to UFC 85 seem to be coming at a breakneck pace. Late Wednesday, the Ultimate Fighting Championship announced the latest alteration to its return to the O2 Arena in London, its second of the day. Ryo Chonan, due to an injured rib, has withdrawn from a scheduled bout with Roan Carneiro.

With a mere week-and-a-half left to the June 7 event, Midwest fighter Kevin Burns quickly stepped in to take Chonan’s place. Amassing a 4-1 record as a professional fighter, Burns has never gone the distance in a professional bout, finishing three of his four victories by submission.

Carneiro was looking forward to rematching Chonan and avenging a loss to the Japanese fighter from more than three years ago. Instead, he will face the UFC newcomer. With nearly 20 professional bouts to his credit, the American Top Team fighter holds a distinct experience advantage over Burns. This will also be Carneiro’s fourth bout in the Octagon – having gone 2-1 with the loss being to No. 1 welterweight contender Jon Fitch – and will hold that advantage as well.
