A welterweight match-up has been added to the upcoming UFC 128 card in New Jersey as Mike Pyle and Ricardo Almeida have agreed to meet on the March 19 show.

The fight was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com by sources close to the match-up who stated verbal agreements are in place for the UFC 128 showdown.

Mike Pyle (20-7-1) will return in New Jersey after his strongest outing yet in the UFC. Facing young gun John Hathaway in his native England, Pyle spoiled his homecoming by dominating the Brit en route to a unanimous decision victory.

The win upped Pyle’s record in the UFC to 3-2 overall, but he currently rides a 2-fight win streak into his fight with Almeida.

Ricardo Almeida (13-4) will look to make it 2-0 in New Jersey as he fights in his adopted home state for the second time in a just under a year.

Defeating Matt Brown in New Jersey last year, Almeida will try to duplicate that success when he faces Pyle at UFC 128.

The bout between Pyle and Almeida is expected to fill part of the televised portion of the card set to go down on March 19 with headliners Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Rashad Evans leading the way for the show.
