A bantamweight bout has been added to the upcoming UFC Fight Night 24 fight card in Seattle as Michael McDonald faces Nick Pace.
The bout was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com by McDonald’s manager Tom Call, stating the fight is official for the March 26 show.
At only 20 years of age, McDonald (11-1) makes his UFC debut after a one-fight stint with the WEC. While he may be young, McDonald packs a huge punch and carries a great submission game, having finished every single opponent on his way to 11 wins.
Pace (6-1) returns to action after pulling off the incredible “Pace choke,” as it was dubbed in his last fight, a win over Will Campuzano in December 2010. Pace would have surely been in line for a “Submission of the Night” award, but he missed weight for the fight and likely felt the brunt of that in his wallet when the night was over.
The bout between McDonald and Pace will be part of the UFC’s trip to Seattle, headlined by former light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.
