Press Release
The Maximum Fighting Championship is ready to heat up the winter with a blast of hot mixed martial arts action on Friday, Feb. 3 2007 at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta.

That will be the night of MFC 11 – Gridiron which will mark the professional fighting debut of Edmonton Eskimos star defensive lineman Adam “The Boogeyman” Braidwood and the return to the ring of his teammate and the 2005 Grey Cup Game’s Most Outstanding Canadian, Mike “The Wolverine” Maurer.

“Both Adam and Mike have promised to deliver so their opponents better be ready,” said Mark Pavelich, the Owner/President of the Maximum Fighting Championship and Pro Camp Sports Management.

“Adam has been training for a long time and with all his natural talent, I believe he could be a major star in mixed martial arts. And Mike’s determination and raw aggression make him virtually unstoppable.

“After the tough season the Eskimos had, I pity the opponents who will feel the wrath of these two warriors at Gridiron.”

MFC 11 – Gridiron will also mark the return to the ring of the MFC’s Light Heavyweight champion Victor “The Matrix” Valimaki. The MFC’s international sensation and UFC star Jason “The Athlete” MacDonald will also be making an appearance and signing autographs.

Also at Gridiron, there will be a No. 1 contender’s bout for a shot at the Light Heavyweight title when Jason “Dooms” Day squares off against Quebec’s ferocious Martin Desilets. The winner of this fight will not only get a crack at Valimaki’s belt but will likely also be the next Canadian to earn a spot in the UFC.

And in action at Gridiron will be the newest young gun in the MFC/Pro Camp Sports Management stable, undefeated rising welterweight star Ryan “The Kid” MacGillivray.

“We have the best fans in all of mixed martial arts and they’re going to get the best MFC card to date on February 3,” added Pavelich.
