Chuck ‘The Iceman’ Liddell defended his UFC Light-Heavyweight Championship Saturday night, at UFC 57: ‘Liddell vs Couture 3,’ by knocking out Couture 1:28 into the second round. ‘The Iceman’ was the featured guest on MMAWeekly Radio Tuesday and talked about his record setting thirteenth win inside the UFC octagon, who he’d like to fight next, and when he expects to be fighting again. Liddell discussed the third bout against Couture. He said, “I thought it went how we expected. Everything worked pretty good. I hurt him a little bit there in the first round and got a little over anxious trying to put him away and get taken down, but other than that, everything went great.”

Recently, the hot topic on Mixed Martial Arts message boards has been the issue of fence grabbing. Liddell grabbed the fence toward the end of round one. Some people say it changed the complexion of the fight. Others contend it played no role in the outcome. Liddell was questioned whether grabbing the fence was a factor in the fight.

Referee ‘Big’ John McCarthy acted in accordance with the Nevada State Athletic Commission’s set of rules regarding fence grabbing in MMA by issuing a verbal warning to Liddell, warning if he did it again, he would be penalized and given a point deduction. Chuck commented, “John McCarthy came over and gave me my warning. He said that is your one warning, and the next one I’m taking a point. It’s a natural reaction . . . You’re not doing it on purpose.”

Chuck doesn’t anticipate fighting until the Fall, but who will his opponent be? Liddell talked about the possibility of Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson coming to the UFC and the opportunity to avenge that loss. Renato ‘Babalu’ Sobral has fought his way into title contention and Liddell discussed a possible rematch with Sobral and the improvements in Sobral’s game since their last fight. ‘The Huntington Beach Bad Boy,’ Tito Ortiz, is back in the UFC and Liddell commented on how that rematch would unfold.

A close friend of Liddell, Willa Ford, will be featured in Playboy magazine next month. Hear Liddell’s reaction about the photos and his relationship with the singer and host of the debut season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter.’ Speaking of Playboy, Liddell also talks about meeting Paris Hilton at the Playboy Mansion.
