Joe Lauzon has announced via MySpace that his next opponent will be Jason Reinhardt in a fight that will take place at UFC 78 in New Jersey.

“I get this question a lot and until now I couldn’t talk about it. I will be fighting Jason Reinhardt November 17th at UFC 78 in New Jersey,” Lauzon stated.

Lauzon made a name for himself by knocking out former UFC Lightweight Champion Jens Pulver in his first fight in the Octagon and then made a semifinals run during the fifth installment of the Ultimate Fighter reality show.

After his loss to Manny Gamburyan, that eliminated him from the show’s competition, Lauzon bounced back with a dominant win over Brandon Melendez at the Ultimate Fighter Finale show in June.

Lauzon had fun with fans on his MySpace page as well as his own website touting that he would be moving up to welterweight to fight perennial top ten 170-pounder Karo Parisyan, which was a good joke played on everyone.

His opponent, Jason Reinhardt, will step into the bout with an undefeated record with nearly 20 professional fights to his credit.

Reinhardt has competed in a number of smaller shows, but November will mark his UFC debut.

More bouts for the card are expected to be announced soon.
