Jason Lambert is set to make his return at UFC 76 where he will take on American Top Team member Wilson Gouveia in a light heavyweight match, as confirmed by sources close to the fight.

Jason Lambert was last seen at UFC 68, where he pulled off the biggest win of his career when he stopped former #1 contender Renato “Babalu” Sobral by TKO in the 2nd round of their match-up. Lambert has been rumored in many possible fights but the fight with Gouveia is now a done deal and he will face another top fighter in the UFC’s 205lb weight class.

Wilson Gouveia will be entering the 5th fight of his UFC career and ever since losing a close decision to Keith Jardine in his debut, he has reeled off 3 wins in a row, all by submission. Gouveia trains out of the American Top Team camp in Florida and the fight with Lambert will likely end up on the main card for the event.

UFC 76 is set to take place on September 22nd in Anaheim. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs. Lyoto Machida was previously announced for the card, as was Diego Sanchez vs. Jon Fitch.
