It has been announced that PANCRASEism’s Satoru Kitaoka will face Brazillian Top Team’s Milton Vieira as yet another feature bout on the coming 9/5 Blow tour card.

Kitaoka is currently enjoying a four-win streak, which include victories over Fabricio Monteiro and Britain’s Paul Daley. Most notably, the victory over Monteiro was suppose to have been the boon for Kitaoka which guaranteed him a slot in the Pride Lightweight Grand Prix, but the acquisition of PRIDE by Zuffa delayed the highly-anticipated tourney.

Kitaoka hasn’t been seen in the Pancrase arena since February when he earned a unanimous decision over Gustavo PC. His Pride bid now likely defunct, Kitaoka will probably seek to position himself yet again for a Welterweight King of Pancrase title shot. Kitaoka lost the number one contender determining bout last May to current Welterweight King of Pancrase Daizo Ishige. A victory over the tough Vieira may just earn him the credit he needs to challenge the winner of the forthcoming Inoue/Ishige rematch.

Vieira, on the other hand, will enter the ring having not fought a bout since last November when he submitted Yukinari Tamura on a Real Rhythm card. Vieira’s recent efforts tell a story of a man who came close, but just never made it.

After losing the DEEP Lightweight title bout with Nobuhiro Obiya, Vieira could only draw current DEEP Lightweight title holder Kazunori Yokota in a slow, monotonous bout. Returning to his native Brazil to try his luck, Vieira could only achieve as much as a semifinal lost to ‘White Bear’ Jean Silva in the Super Challenge tourney last October. A victory over Kitaoka would boost Vieira’s stock and motivation considerably.
