Spike TV on Monday issued a press release confirming the participation of Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson for “The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights” finale, which will take place on Dec. 5 at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

The release fell short of naming Kimbo’s opposition, indicating “Slice’s opponent will be announced at a later date, pending on what transpires on the special two-hour ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ episode on Wednesday, Dec. 2.”

Strong speculation, however, indicates Kimbo will make his Octagon debut against Houston Alexander, who at a recent Nevada State Athletic Commission meeting, underwent a special licensing procedure for fighters over 35 years of age.

Kimbo fell short his first time out on The Ultimate Fighter, getting manhandled by show favorite Roy Nelson.

If Kimbo’s opponent is Alexander, it will mark the Nebraskan’s return to the UFC. Following a three-fight skid in the Octagon, Alexander fought for manager Monte Cox’s Adrenaline MMA promotion in September, where he defeated fellow UFC veteran Sherman Pendergarst in just under two minutes.
