There are key moments in UFC history that led to the fight promotion’s recent $4 billion sale. UFC 37.5 was certainly one of them.
UFC 37.5 was a hastily culled together event to air on Fox Sports Net’s “The Best Damn Sports Show Period,” which marked the first time that a mixed martial arts bout aired on U.S. cable television.
In the first of these two flashback clips, the video is a little rough, but shows Vitor Belfort and Chuck Liddell at the weigh-in for their historic bout at UFC 37.5. The second is MMAWeekly.com co-founder the late Ryan Bennett interviewing Liddell in the Octagon after he secured the victory over Belfort.
