A trio of fights have been confirmed for the upcoming Strikeforce show in Ohio set to go down on March 5. Tim Kennedy will face Luke Rockhold in a middleweight bout, Jorge Masvidal returns to the promotion against Billy Evangelista, and the women’s welterweight title is on the line between Marloes Coenen and Miesha Tate.

Strikeforce officials confirmed the bouts with MMAWeekly.com on Monday.

Tim Kennedy was originally scheduled to face old foe Jason “Mayhem” Miller in the third fight in their series of match-ups, but the Army veteran will instead face young upstart Luke Rockhold.

Rockhold has been on a tear in Strikeforce of late, reeling off six wins in a row, and now he makes the move to the main card of a Showtime feature event.

Also added to the card is a lightweight showdown between Billy Evangelista and Jorge Masvidal.

Undefeated in his pro career, Billy Evangelista has made a steady climb up the lightweight ladder and hopes to take another big step in Ohio. Looking to derail his run is Strikeforce returnee Jorge Masvidal, who hasn’t fought for the San Jose, Calif. based promotion for the past three years.

Also confirmed by Strikeforce officials on Monday is the co-main event on the card featuring Marloes Coenen defending her 135-pound women’s title against top contender Miesha Tate.

Ticket pre-sale gets started on Tuesday, Feb. 1, with general ticket sales kicking off on Friday, Feb. 4.
