Justin Gaethje shares hospital bed photo with Michael Chandler by his side

Justin Gaethje and Michael Chandler competed in a three-round war at UFC 268 on Saturday that many are saying is already the shoo-in for Fight of the Year. Their back-and-forth slugfest cannot be denied as at least one of the top five fights in UFC lightweight history.

After the fight ended both athletes were taken to the hospital, skipping the post-fight press conference. But shortly after arriving to the hospital the men were reunited and snapped a photo together from Gaethje’s hospital bed.

The image is the last in a series on Gaethje’s Instagram, so you’ll need to scroll to the end to see it.

“All glory to God. I wasn’t leaving tonight without my chance to put another strap on Trevor Wittman’s wall,” he wrote on the caption.

Many fellow fighters commented on the photo offering their thoughts on the performance of both fighters.

“[You] did that big dogg so proud of you,” Bobby Green wrote. Michael Bisping wrote, “Wow!!! Just amazing mate.”

“Congrats bro. The most exciting fighter in history of MMA,” former champion Henry Cejudo wrote. Dustin Jacoby wrote, “You’s a daaawwwwgggg.”

Chander, who walked away with his second straight loss, hasn’t posted his thoughts yet.

“I knew exactly what that motherf—er was,” Gaethje said during his in-cage interview following the fight. “He is a warrior and we are living in the wrong times. Me and him should have been fighting to the death in a coliseum.”
