MMAWeekly caught up with Josh Barnett the day before his fight with Mark Hunt in Japan. Mark Hunt and Josh Barnett have both been making their mark in Pride’s heavyweight division, but only one of them will be getting their arm raised at the end of the fight.

Barnett said regarding his plan for the fight, “Just win, baby! It’s pretty obvious… he’s a striker, he’s gonna keep it on the feet. I won’t say I’m a ‘grappler’ necessarily, but I’m gonna put him on his back, look for the submission, or try and pick him up and see if he can take all his weight on his head.”

When asked if he was disappointed that Emelianenko Fedor is not in the tournament due to injury, Barnett said, “You know what? It doesn’t matter. I mean, I really do want to fight the guy, but I can’t dictate how things are gonna to turn out. All I can do is train, prepare, and be ready for whatever challenges come my way… and I know that if I take care of those challenges, if I defeat these people in front of me, then I’m gonna get what I want in the end. You either fight them now or you fight them later. You’re gonna have to fight everybody… bring ’em on! I don’t really care. I’ll be ready for you.”
