Joey Beltran will welcome Ohio prospect Stipe Miocic to the Octagon when the heavyweights collide at UFC 136 in Houston.
UFC officials announced the new bout on Wednesday.
Following back-to-back losses, Joey Beltran bounced back with a TKO win over UFC newcomer Aaron Rosa at UFC 131 in June.
The heavy handed fighter will try to make it two in a row as he faces another UFC rookie.
Ohio based fighter Stipe Miocic comes to the UFC with an undefeated record, a strong wrestling background, and real knockout power.
A former college roommate at Cleveland State with middleweight fighter Gerald Harris, Miocic also trains alongside Bellator middleweight Brian Rogers, and will try to keep his perfect record intact when he debuts in October.
The bout between Beltran and Miocic will be on the undercard for the UFC 136 fight card going down on Oct. 8 in Houston. The event also features a third bout between UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard, as well as a featherweight title bout with champion Jose Aldo putting his belt on the line against Kenny Florian.
