K-1 was one of the first promotions to lend their fighters to different organizations to give their fighters more work. K-1 let their athletes compete in organizations like Rumble on the Rock and Hero’s to give them some expierence as well as to give them the opportunity to fight more between K-1 shows.

The UFC doesn’t have an official “farm system” in place, but it’s no secret that they’ve used many WEC and King of the Cage fighters for their shows as of late. Joe “Diesel” Riggs will be fighting for the UFC belt against Matt Hughes in a couple of weeks; Riggs is currently the WEC Champion in the 185-pound weight class.

James Irvin, the WEC Heavyweight Champion will face Stephan Bonnar on January 16th on Spike TV. Joe Stevenson, the King of the Cage Champ, won the Ultimate Fighter TV Finale on Saturday night.

It now looks as the latest organization to loan their fighters to other promotions is Pride, who has been working with Icon, the show formerly known as SuperBrawl. Now, Pride has apparently lent Vitor Belfort to Cage Rage to give him a fight before bringing him back to Japan. Belfort has been scheduled to face Antony Rea of France on December 3rd in England.
