Heavyweights Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Chris Daukaus clashed on the UFC 282 preliminary fight card on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Rozenstruik entered the match ranked No. 9 in the heavyweight division hoping to snap a two-fight losing skid. Daukaus was ranked No. 11 and also coming off back-to-back losses. Both men wanted to avoid losing three in a row.
The two met in the cent row the cage and immediately started letting the leather fly. Daukaus landed a right hand. Rozenstruik stunned Daukaus with a stiff jab and mashed the throttle. He swarmed Daukaus. Daukaus desperately tried to cover up, but Rozenstruik continued to let his hands go. A right hand sent Daukaus crashing to the canvas and referee Mark Smith had seen enough. The entire fight lasted 23 seconds.
“We changed a lot of things in training and this is the result,” Rozenstruik said following the win.
