The cameras are off, and you can bet Roy Nelson will put on
At least that’s what the 33-year-old says about his fight
this Saturday against fellow “TUF 10” alum Brendan Schaub.
“Big Country” defeated three opponents to make it to the
Palms Casino, but says fans that watched the show weren’t seeing the guy who’s
fought in arenas around the country. He was just trying to win, first and
“Now, when you’re fighting in front of fans, this is where
you need to impress the fans, UFC brass, the whole nine yards,” he said. “This

There’s no doubt Nelson gained fame on the show, though it

attacked him for his just-get-by style.
Even if that was the case, Nelson stands by his
“I won with two crucifixes,” he said. “Sooner or later I’m
going to be like the Chuck Liddell, but doing a crucifix instead of a cross. I
can start calling my moves.”
If he’s on his game, Nelson will call up a victory against
the athletic, but less experienced, Schaub.
He’ll do his best to entertain along the way.
