UFC president Dana White revealed on Thursday that middleweight Brad Tavares has been forced out of The Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale main event because of a broken foot. Tavares was scheduled headline the July 6 fight card against Israel Adesanya.
“Brad Tavares, just this morning, broke his foot. He’s out of that fight now with Israel, so we’re looking to put somebody new in,” White told TMZ Sports.
A replacement for Tavares hasn’t been officially named, but Brazilian Thiago Santos has offered to step in on short notice against Adesanya.
“Thiago Santos said he will accept the fight, but I’m still looking and trying to figure this thing out,” said White. “Injuries are killing me.”
