The semi-finals for the HEROS Light Heavyweight tournament are now set; Yoshihiro Akiyama will take on Kestutis Smirnovas and Shungo Oyama will take on Melvin Manhoef in a rematch of their fight earlier this year.

Also announced was the reserve match for the tournament, Tokimitsu “Kendo Ka Shin” Ishizawa will take on former UFC Welterweight Champion Carlos Newton. Ishizawa made his return to MMA in March against Yoshihiro Akiyama after a four year hiatus. Newton will finally make his HEROS debut after being scheduled to fight Melvin Manhoef at the last HEROS show, but having to pull out due to injury just days before the event.
