Henry Cejudo Trashes Demetrious Johnson, Promises to ‘Kill the Mouse’

Henry Cejudo seems to have a problem with UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson.

On Wednesday, Cejudo exploded with a series of messages over social media aimed at Johnson, who he’s been rumored to face after a proposed super fight against bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw failed to come together earlier this year.

Cejudo first took aim at Johnson by pointing out how he’s failed to draw at the box office or on pay-per-view while promising to finish him off the next time they meet.

“Great fighter but nobody cares to watch him and I will kill the mouse,” Cejudo wrote.

“I was being told DJ overplayed his hand, they asked him to fight in August he said no and now he’s trying to get on again because he knows he can’t sell his own [pay-per-view] and want to make money off others. Fact.”

Cejudo previously met Johnson back in 2016 where he suffered a first round TKO loss to the longest reigning champion in UFC history. Since that time, Cejudo has retooled his arsenal and gone 2-1 over his past three fights with his only loss coming by split decision to Joseph Benavidez.

Speaking of Benavidez, Cejudo also claimed that if he wins his upcoming fight against Sergio Pettis at UFC 225 that the promotion is considering an interim title being introduced while Johnson remains out of action.

“And one more thing that’s being discussed. If Benavidez gets a win there will be an interim title fight,” Cejudo added.

Now obviously Cejudo’s claim doesn’t mean there’s any actual proof that the UFC is considering an interim title, especially in a division that has been so thoroughly dominated by the champion.

Johnson has also only been out of action since last October when he dominated Ray Borg for four rounds before finishing him with an armbar submission in the fifth round.

Since that time, Johnson had shoulder surgery and was rumored for the champion versus champion showdown against Dillashaw. Once that fight was scrapped, Johnson has since been rumored for a rematch against Cejudo but obviously nothing has been finalized at this time.
