Heavyweight Heath Herring will not compete against prospect Cain Velasquez at UFC 99 on June 13 due to an unspecified injury.

The promotion announced the change via its official Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon. A replacement for Herring will be announced on Wednesday, the promotion added.

Calls to Herring requesting details on the situation were not returned.

A first shift in the European card’s line-up arose Monday when Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic announced his Octagon return against Mustapha Al-Turk, who was previously booked to face American Todd Duffee. Duffee’s replacement opponent is not known at this time.

The summer card in Cologne, Germany has recently met complications of another kind when German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung issued a front-page story denouncing the event’s brutality. The UFC’s local promoter, Mark Lieberberg, granted a ban on minors’ attendance at the event, according to a report on Yahoo! Sports.

7,200 tickets have been sold for the event, the report furthered.

A catch-weight fight between Rich Franklin and Wanderlei Silva headlines the card.
