World Extreme Cagefighting on Saturday finalized the fight card for its upcoming WEC 46: Varner vs. Henderson event on Jan. 10 at the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, Calif.

WEC lightweight champion Jamie Varner returns from nearly a year of inactivity due to injuries suffered in his title defense last January against Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone. He will attempt to defend his title from interim champion Ben Henderson, who earned the title designation in a bout against Cerrone in October in San Antonio.

The fight card also features the return of two former WEC featherweight champions. No. 3 ranked Urijah Faber, also making his way back from injury, squares up with No. 4 ranked Raphael Assuncao, trying to get into position to challenge current champ and MMAWeekly.com’s 2009 Fighter of the Year Jose Aldo. Mike Brown, who lost his title to Aldo in November, gets right back in the saddle against promotional newcomer Anthony Morrison.
