Former strawweight queen Joanna Jedrzejczyk has booked her next fight as she will take on Tecia Torres in a clash at 115-pounds at UFC on FOX 30 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on July 28.
UFC president Dana White confirmed the fight on Tuesday when speaking with ESPN.
This will be the first non-title fight for Jedrzejczyk since 2014 when she was only two fights into her UFC career before becoming strawweight champion.
Most recently, Jedrzejczyk has dropped back-to-back fights to current champion Rose Namajunas, but obviously she was anxious to return to the Octagon to work her way back into title contention.
As for Torres, the former American Top Team fighter is coming off a decision loss to Jessica Andrade in February, which brought her three fight win streak to an end.
While Torres actually used to fight out of the same gym as Jedrzejczyk, they never really trained together while working in the Coconut Creek, Florda based facility.
Jedrzejczyk vs. Torres joins a growing line up headed to UFC on FOX 30 including former featherweight champion Jose Aldo facing Jeremy Stephens in the co-main event with a headliner still to be determined for the card.
