.
No, we’re not kidding. This is it, it’s for real for real this time.
Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao have finally agreed that 200 million reasons are enough to get them into the boxing ring together. It’s taken several years of near misses, but Yahoo Sports’ Kevin Iole reported on Friday that winning the equivalent of a Powerball Jackpot is enough money for Mayweather and Pacquiao to punch each other in the face.
The two boxing icons will reportedly split a $200,000,000 purse… yes, you read that right. That is a 200 with SIX zeroes after it — no decimals. Mayweather will get the lion’s share of the purse at $120 million, while Pacquiao will slump home, win or lose, with a paltry $80 million.
Mayweather and Pacquiao also went to social media to give their takes on the fight. Pac-Man went to Twitter, while Mayweather used a platform called “Shots,” which he apparently invests in.
I am very happy that Floyd Mayweather and I can give the fans the fight they have wanted for so many years.

I dedicate this fight to all the fans who willed this fight to happen and, as always, to bring glory to the Philippines.

Yeah, yeah, we know, UFC undercard fighters are gonna take home way more than Mayweather when that Reebok deal kicks in, but… oh, wait, you don’t think so?
Okay, well, you’re probably right, but us guys in the MMA world certainly have some more ammunition for the underpaid argument.
And if you’re not already fired up over Mayweather and Pacquiao, let’s get Mr. President involved! He was surely the motivator that got this deal done. (wink)
