LONDON – The fighters for Saturday’s Cage Rage 24 event a Wembley Arena weighed in today at the Wembley Plaza Hotel. All the fighters made weight.

The main event features Murilo “Ninja” Rua, fresh off a loss of his EliteXC middleweight title, against Xavier Foupa Pokam. Ninja will be looking to start a new streak as he was on a three-fight tear before being derailed by Robbie Lawler in September. Pokam is currently on a five-fight streak of his own, but Ninja is likely to be one of his toughest tests to date.

There was some tension throughout the weigh-ins, but nothing that ever got out of hand.

Saturday’s event marks the introduction of random drug testing at Cage Rage events. All championship fights will have both fighters tested, while other fighters will be selected at random.

As usual for Cage Rage events, the use of elbows on the ground is illegal. Cage Rage officials also mentioned their efforts to have elbows removed from EliteXC and potentially other MMA events due to the excessive cuts that they believe often lead to early stoppages and boring fights.

The event is being broadcast live on Sky Sports in the U.K. and streamed on the Internet at ProElite.com.
