Erik Koch will meet Cub Swanson in the latest offering to the upcoming UFC on Versus 3 fight card slated to go down March 3 in Louisville, Ky.
The bout was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com by sources close to the match-up on Monday. MMAJunkie.com initially reported the pairing.
Koch (11-1) makes his UFC debut after two very impressive wins closed out his days with the WEC. Koch submitted Bendy Casimir, then returned to land a thunderous head kick knockout on Francisco Rivera in November 2010 at WEC 52.
A product of Duke Roufus and his team in Milwaukee, Koch will look to keep his winning streak alive when he faces Swanson in March.
Working under some legendary coaches of his own at Team Jackson/Winkleljohn, Swanson (15-4) moves over to the UFC coming off a split decision win over Mackens Semerzier in a “Fight of the Night” performance back in November as well.
Swanson has been considered one of the toughest competitors at 145 pounds in the WEC, and hopes to duplicate that success in the UFC.
The bout between Koch and Swanson will likely take a slot on the untelevised portion of the broadcast set to go down on Versus on March 3.
