World Victory Road on Friday confirmed that Antonio Silva would compete on its Jan. 4 event, Sengoku 7. The EliteXC heavyweight champion is slated to face Yoshihiro Nakao.

The bout will be Silva’s first since capturing the EliteXC title with a win over Justin Eilers on July 26. He is currently under suspension in California due to a positive test result for the steroid Boldenone, following the bout with Eilers.

Japan does not have to honor the suspensions set forth by American athletic commissions, although it could adversely affect Silva’s chances to be reinstated in the U.S. if he attempts to fight there again.

World Victory Road previously announced a lightweight title bout between Takanori Gomi and Satoru Kitaoka and a middleweight championship pitting Jorge Santiago against Kazuo Misaki. Sengoku 7 will also feature a heavyweight battle between Hidehiko Yoshida and Sanae Kikuta.
