Frankie Edgar will look to move up the ever growing lightweight division when he returns on Dec. 10 to take on former “Ultimate Fighter” cast member Matt Wiman, as confirmed to MMAWeekly.com by sources inside Edgar’s camp.

The bout agreements have been signed and Edgar against Wiman will be a featured bout for “UFC Fight for the Troops” event at Fort Bragg in North Carolina.

Edgar most recently competed at UFC Fight Night on July 19 where he soundly defeated former top lightweight contender Hermes Franca en route to a unanimous decision win.

As for Matt Wiman, since leaving The Ultimate Fighter Season 5, he has gone 4-0 in the Octagon with his last win coming by way of knockout over Thiago Tavares.

With the UFC’s 155-pound division being arguable the most stacked weight class in the sport, every fight is big and Edgar vs. Wiman is definitely no different.

The event for the troops will be headlined by another former Ultimate Fighter cast member, as Mike Swick takes on Canadian Jonathan Goulet in a welterweight showdown.
