Dustin Poirier shares photo of badly infected foot

Former UFC interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier is battling a staph infection that is not responding to antibiotics.

On Monday, Poirier tweeted, “Shits getting serious” from his hospital room. He remains in the hospital and shared a photo of his badly infected foot on Tuesday. He hopes to be released tomorrow.

Poirier is coming off a submission win over Michael Chandler at UFC 281 on November 12. He’s currently ranked as the No. 2 contender in the 155-pound division.
