Dream New Year’s Eve Card Adds Two New Bouts

Tatsuya Kawajiri

Two new bouts have been announced for the year end Dream New Year’s Eve card, including former top ten ranked lightweight fighter Tatsuya Kawajiri.

The former Pride and Strikeforce fighter made his move to featherweight for his last fight and successfully Joachim Hansen in his debut, and now he will make his return to action at the New Year’s Eve card against ‘Little Hercules’ Kazuyuki Miyata.

Miyata had been riding a six-fight win streak until he lost a split decision to Hiroyuki Takaya by split decision back in July.

Also added to card is another featherweight fight featuring previously mentioned Hiroyuki Takaya against Takeshi ‘Lion’ Inoue.

Takaya has had some ups and downs throughout his career including a brief stint in the WEC, but defeated Miyata in his last fight to get back to his winning ways.

Takeshi ‘Lion’ Inoue at one time was considered one of the best featherweights in the world, and will look to reclaim a spot in the top ten when he returns in late December. In his last fight, Inoue absolutely floored former UFC fighter Caol Uno with a nasty head kick to pick up his third win in a row.

The two bouts are the latest additions to the Dream New Year’s Eve card, which is expected to be headlined by lightweight champion Shinya Aoki, but currently he is without an opponent at this time.

The show is expected to air in the U.S. on HDNet.
