Current Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight Din Thomas was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly running illegal fights at a gym he owns according to police representatives.

Thomas faces possibly felony charges stemming from the alleged illegal fights and is working on posting a $10,000 bond to be released from incarceration.

The former competitor on “The Ultimate Fighter” reality show apparently was running the fights without sanctioning by the Florida State Boxing Commission. He now faces a prohibited competitions charge from the illegal bouts.

Thomas recently underwent knee surgery stemming from an injury sustained in a fight with Kenny Florian in which he lost by rear naked choke in the first round.

American Top Team representatives confirmed that Thomas, a member of ATT, was arrested Tuesday morning, but should be released on bond Tuesday afternoon.

No word yet on the severity of the charges or what prosecutors will seek for punishment if Thomas is convicted.
