Almost a year after their debut show in Columbus, Ohio, the Gracie Fighting Championships is set to produce their next event on January 20th, this time in Miami Florida.

Already confirmed for the show are Nick Diaz vs. Thomas “Wildman” Denny and bout between Jake Shields and Renato “Charuto” Verissimo. The fights were verified by Graciefighter.com, the site for Diaz and Shields’ fight team.

The rest of the fight card is also expected to bring more big names to the show, which is expected to be on pay-per-view.

Diaz, currently ranked as the #9 welterweight in the MMAWeekly.com Rankings, will be making only his second appearance outside of the Ultimate Fighting Championship in more than three years. He recently defeated Gleison Tibau at UFC 65. His opponent, Denny, is a longtime King of the Cage veteran that defeated MFS fighter Tony Fryklund in his most recent fight.

Currently #7 in MMAWeekly’s welterweight rankings, Jake Shields is riding a five-fight win streak, capturing the Rumble on the Rock 175-pound Grand Prix in the process. Many had hoped for a bout with Verissimo to take place as part of that Grand Prix, but Verissimo was knocked out of the tournament early by Carlos Condit, whom Shields eventually defeated in the final.
