Middleweights Derek Brunson (12-3) and Ed Herman (22-10, 1 NC) were scheduled to meet on the UFC on Fox: dos Santos vs. Miocic preliminary card in Phoenix. The two officially weighed in on Friday, but a stomach illness has forced Brunson out of the fight.
UFC officials announced the development at the beginning of the preliminary card broadcast on Fox Sports 1.
Brunson was coming off a unanimous decision win over Lorenz Larkin at UFC 177 in August. Herman defeated Rafeal Natal in his last outing at UFC Fight Night 40 in May.
It’s unknown at the time of publication whether or not the fight will be scheduled for a later date.
