Regarded as
one of the top three Featherweights (145-pounds) in the U.K., Danny Batten
recently signed a 3-fight deal with the Pancrase organization in Japan. Taking
the fought on short notice, Batten’s first fight for Pancrase will be a
challenge of current King of Pancrase Featherweight Yosihiro Maeda in a
non-title bout.

“I’ve been
given just over a week’s notice for this fight, but it’s no problem. I’m always
training hard,” said Batten. “I’ve got the capabilities to beat this guy, even
with the short notice.”

“It would
have been good if it was a title fight,” said Batten, but he’s still ready to
go over there and show what he and British fighters in general are capable of.

With a
record of 11-4-3, Batten has been a key figure in the U.K. featherweight
movement, but has always wanted to return to Japan. Thanks to Pancrase, Batten
will finally get his chance.
