Dana White stumps for President Donald Trump in Colorado: ‘This guy is so loyal’

UFC president Dana White once again took the dais to sing the praises of and stand beside friend Donald J. Trump, the current President of the United States, who has been making a few campaign stops as the 2020 election draws near.

A few people were surprised, many were not, when White was one of the key speakers at the Republican National Convention in 2016. Then-nominee Trump was being designated as the Republican candidate for the presidential election opposite Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

White has never been very political when it comes to his public comments, but President Trump has proved an exception.

The relationship dates back to when White and the Fertitta brothers were first taking charge of the UFC and trying to take it from a two-million dollar purchase to a multi-billion dollar company. Trump was one of the first business owners to work with the UFC and provided a venue for them to hold events.

A friendship developed over the years, and that friendship has trumped White’s usual avoidance of the political realm.

After President Trump attended UFC 244 in New York last year, it shouldn’t be much of a surprise that White stumped for him at a campaign rally on Thursday in Colorado Springs.

“I’ve known this man for 20 years. We’ve actually become even closer since he’s become the President of the United States. When somebody becomes the President of the United States, you don’t ever expect to hear from them again. And I understand it. It absolutely makes sense. This guy is so loyal and such a good friend. Every time I see him — I saw him today. When I met him on Air Force 1, the first thing he said to me was, ‘How is your family?’ Good man, very loyal and a very good friend.”
