CM Punk has now fought twice in his mixed martial arts career since making the jump from professional wrestling’s WWE to the UFC. He’s also now lost twice, and according to UFC President Dana White, that means he’s most likely done in the Octagon.
What’s next for CM Punk? Only he knows the answer to that, but it almost assuredly won’t have to do with fighting inside the Octagon.
If Punk decides to continue trying his hand at MMA, it will likely have to take place elsewhere.
Though he was finished swiftly in his first UFC bout opposite Mickey Gall, Punk lasted the full three rounds with Mike Jackson on Saturday at UFC 225 in Chicago.
Following the fight, Punk issued the following statement via his Twitter account:
“You win some, you lose some! I’m 1-1 this week and I’ll take it! Thanks to my team, my family, my friends, and THE FANS! Wouldn’t be here without any of you. Respect to Mike Jackson, thanks for the fight! You only live once, and… I’M ALIVE!”
