Former UFC light heavyweight champion, UFC Hall of Fame member and mixed martial arts icon Chuck Liddell weighed in on Jon Jones testing positive to cocaine metabolites and leaving rehab after one day.
“He’ll be fine. He’s going to be fine,” the 45-year-old former titleholder told TMZ.com about the current champion. “He made a mistake. Give the guy a break.”
Jones failed an out out competition drug test administered in December just a month ahead of his eighth consecutive title defense against Daniel Cormier at UFC 182 on Jan. 6 in Las Vegas. The 27-year-old entered a rehabilitation center immediately following the news that he had tested positive. He checked out the following day.
