Chris Beal’s TUF 18 Fighter Blog Week 6: That Was Too Close to Call

October 13, 2013

Chris Beal Under TUF LightsFirst off, I have to give a thank you to Anthony for taking the spotlight in Episode 6. Him being all loud and obnoxious, trying to keep Raquel awake, gave them something to focus on the show instead of a couple, um, moments, that I had.

I’ll have to get back at Peggy though, since she outted me in her blog for

Okay, yes, I did get into it with Louis, but that’s just because he lacks any heart, and as I’ve said before, I believe he was just happy to get back in the house and get his time on TV. He opened his mouth and said some things that I didn’t appreciate, so I had to put him in his place.

I don’t call anybody out, and I’ll fight whomever the UFC puts in front of me. I just want to fight. But, man, if they were to put me in the Octagon with Louis, I’m telling you right now, I wouldn’t complain. I wouldn’t even give him the opportunity to tap out… I’d knock him out.

You also didn’t get to see me in one of my finer moments, when I let loose a little bit. Actually, a bunch of us that didn’t have fights coming up let loose a little bit at the Hooters pool party. I made the mistake of having a couple of drinks and trying to keep up with Marina (Shafir), one of our assistant coaches. She’s from Russia, so yeah, that was a mistake.

I actually was out like a light when the whole thing with Anthony being loud and obnoxious with Raquel went down. And that whole thing wasn’t real cool man, Rocky had a fight the next day and trying to keep her awake was B.S.

Like everybody else, I was blown away by the fight between Jessamyn and Rocky.

Jessamyn is on my team, so of course, I was a little biased. Every little thing she did, I was like man, come on, she won that round, but all of the rounds were close.

It was hard to say who got the better of who. Third round, I think Jessamyn did a good job of turning it up. I can’t say she lost the fight, but I can’t say she won the fight. When you leave it to the judges like that, you can’t complain because it was so, so close.

I don’t think you could get any closer than that, and I would have hated to judge that fight.

Rocky got the W for that fight, but they were both winners in my book. That was just a great fight and I think really shows what the women are here to do and that they should be taken seriously.

We have another interesting match-up on tap with Josh Hill vs. Michael Wooten next week, so be sure to watch the fight and check back for my next blog!
