Carlos Condit and B.J. Penn appear to be headed to Las Vegas.

The pivotal welterweight match-up has been targeted as the co-main event for UFC 137 on Oct 29 in Las Vegas alongside the welterweight title fight between champion Georges St-Pierre and challenger Nick Diaz.

Sources close to the bout confirmed to MMAWeekly.com that the fighters have agreed to the date and are currently awaiting final bout agreements from the UFC.

The two welterweights essentially agreed to face each other while bantering on Twitter, and within moments the UFC had made the call to put them in the Octagon together.

B.J. Penn actually suggested the Oct 29 date when responding to Condit, and it looks like the former welterweight champion is going to get his wish.

The bout between Condit and Penn could very well determine the next challenger for the belt, and it’s convenient that the welterweight title will be on the line that very same night.

More fights are expected to be announced in the coming weeks to fill the undercard for UFC 137.
